Landfills are essential for waste disposal - but at the same time they pose a growing risk to the environment and health. One particular problem area is leachate, which can be contaminated by PFAS. These persistent substances originate from everyday products such as textiles, packaging or industrial waste - and end up directly in our environment via household waste.<\/p>

Leachates not only contain PFAS, but also high salt loads, heavy metals, organic loads and turbidity. This complex composition poses a major challenge for conventional treatment processes - especially for activated carbon and ion exchangers, whose effectiveness is impaired by this matrix.<\/p>
