PerfluorAd+ is an innovative addition to our proven PFAS technology. As a complementary active component to the established PerfluorAd®, it focusses on the short-chain PFAS that are particularly difficult to separate and achieves impressive results.
PFAS are among the most persistent environmental contaminants of all. Although PerfluorAd® already enables highly efficient removal of long-chain PFAS, treatment in combination with short-chain PFAS has long posed a technical challenge. We have closed this gap with PerfluorAd+®. The new active component was specially developed to convert water-soluble short-chain PFAS into filterable flocs without the use of problematic chemicals and without additional plant technology.
PerfluorAd+® is not a substitute, but a targeted supplement to PerfluorAd®. In combination, both active ingredients increase the overall efficiency of PFAS removal to up to 99.9% - the highest possible effectiveness depending on the matrix and load. Parallel dosing of both components is also possible.
Application: as a second step after PerfluorAd® or in combination
The particular strength of the PerfluorAd® /PerfluorAd+® process lies above all in the fact that even highly contaminated and cross-contaminated water can be treated reliably - i.e. water that is both heavily organically contaminated and highly contaminated with salt.
With PerfluorAd+, the technology has been further developed specifically for the removal of short-chain PFAS compounds. In combination, PerfluorAd® and PerfluorAd+® significantly increase the overall efficiency of PFAS removal.
As part of the Perfluor.Dat research project, the company worked with Fraunhofer UMSICHT the effectiveness of PerfluorAd+®. The results show:
A significant reduction of >95% was achieved for short-chain PFAS such as PFBS - depending on matrix and load.
Bench-scale tests are possible in our laboratories in Essen, Stockholm and Bristol.
