Cornelsen Group expands solution portfolio: Groundwater Technology becomes part of the group of companies

Essen / Rotterdam, 22 January 2026 - The Cornelsen Group is further expanding its international range of solutions in the field of environmental and water technologies: By acquiring a majority stake in Groundwater Technology, the Group is strengthening its expertise in soil and groundwater remediation as well as its presence in the BeNeLux region.

Groundwater Technology, based in Rotterdam, has been more than 35 years is one of the leading specialists for site-specific solutions in soil and groundwater remediation. The company covers the entire project life cycle - from analysis and planning to the implementation of complex remediation measures - and works for industrial, chemical and public clients in the Benelux region and Canada.

Groundwater Technology's technological profile also includes proprietary processes developed in the Netherlands, such as the Bio-Inspired Soil Improvement (BISI) approach, which uses nature-based principles to improve soil stability and optimise remediation results sustainably and efficiently

The integration of Groundwater Technology marks an important milestone for the Cornelsen Group: established processes, in-depth site expertise and innovative technologies will be added to the existing portfolio. At the same time, the Group's comprehensive range of solutions will be further expanded - particularly in light of the rapidly growing demand for effective PFAS remediation solutions in Europe

The founders and co-CEOs Yvo Veenis and Robert Heling will remain active in the company and retain a significant shareholding. Together with their experienced team, they will drive the technological development and growth of Groundwater Technology within the Cornelsen Group.
