On 16 July 2026, the Cornelsen Group invites you for the first time to the "Future landfill" to Essen - a new networking format that brings together science, industry and regulatory perspectives on PFAS-contaminated landfill leachate. The event will take place at the Cornelsen Umwelttechnologie site in Essen and is aimed at landfill operators and other specialists who are concerned with the current and future challenges of dealing with PFAS and contaminated leachate.
With "Future landfill" the Cornelsen Group would like to create a format that offers orientation, promotes dialogue and brings together different levels in a targeted manner. After all, direct dialogue is particularly important in the area of conflict between regulation, technical feasibility and operational practice. The aim of the event is therefore not only to provide information, but above all to realise potential in the exchange of ideas, to classify questions together and to create new points of contact for practical application. The networking concept is deliberately at the centre of the event. The flyer already describes the event as a platform for creating synergies, clarifying questions, visualising solutions and strengthening the network in a targeted manner.
In terms of content, the event focuses on a combination of professional categorisation, practical relevance and personal exchange. Contributions are planned from Fraunhofer UMSICHTthe Law firm FRANSSEN NUSSER and the Cornelsen Group. The programme is complemented by a Live demonstration on the treatment of landfill leachate with PerfluorAd®. Among other things, the focus will be on technological developments, perspectives on authorisation law and a holistic view of analysis, treatment and implementation. Open Q&A sessions and networking elements round off the format.
For participants "Future landfill" This provides concrete added value: current regulatory developments relating to PFAS can be better categorised, possible effects on existing and future requirements can be made more tangible and practical solutions can be discussed directly. At the same time, the format creates low-threshold access to bundled expertise and significantly reduces the effort required for initial orientation, coordination and classification. For operators in particular, this can be a valuable advantage when complex issues need to be turned into concrete next steps.
As the Cornelsen Group, we see it as an important task not only to make solutions visible, but also to actively promote professional dialogue. Challenges such as PFAS in the landfill environment cannot be meaningfully considered from just one perspective. There needs to be dialogue between science, industry, the regulatory environment and operational practice in order to develop viable ways forward. This is exactly what "Future landfill" create a framework.
The first "Future landfill" takes place on 16 July 2026 from 10:00 to 15:30 in the Graf-Beust-Allee 33, 45141 Essen will take place. Participation is free of charge. Prior registration is mandatory
